In days gone by, tradition had it that for one full moon after a pair got married, they might drink mead, as superstition connected it with increased fertility. This is where the custom that's these days known as a honeymoon commenced. Bunratty Winery is located beside the classic Bunratty Castle, which goes back to the 1400s. The Winery makes Bunratty Mead, a wine which goes back to the time of the ancient Celts. It is created using a traditional local process. Bunratty is simply a 15 minute drive from Shannon Airport, making it a perfect excursion for the visitor.

Just in the center of Lahinch, a very pretty town on the coast of County Clare, is the long established Atlantic Hotel. From here, guests can walk out the door and go straight onto the mile long Blue Flag beach. Otherwise, if they walk just five minutes down the road they're going to find themselves at the Links Championship Golfing Course. This is a time-honoured seaside hotel, with hearty, mouth-watering food, entirely licensed bar and auto park. It is the best place to stay while experiencing all that Clare has to offer,eg the Burren, Cliffs of Moher and Aillwee Caves.

Aran View House, in Doolin, County Clare, is in a old Georgian mansion which was constructed in the early 18th century. Set on 40.5 hectares of agricultural land, it's been owned by the Linnane family for a few centuries. This lends it a singular rustic ambience and charm. Doolin hamlet is merely a ten minute amble down the street, while Doolin Cavern is also close by.
