Satan Will Not defeat Us

By Lee Lightfoot

Most of us tend not to take Satan seriously in our lives. Regularly he is described as this evil cunning looking guy with a pitchfork who is readily recognise. The real truth is that he was once one of the most beautiful creatures in heaven before God cast him out thanks to his rebellion against God. The Bible says he is "the angel of light". Part of his deception is how he can make sin and evil so desirable to us. If he presented as a unpleasant demon, it'd be easy to avoid him.

Make no mistake; Satan is the best enemy you'll ever have in your life. The Bible claims he prowls around like a roaring lion seeking to devour. He's planning to leave nothing left of you by the time he's finished. According to John 10:10, he also comes to steal, kill and destroy. He doesn?t simply mess up your life he destroys it one tiny lie after another.

Have you taken Satan seriously? He's real and is active and detrimental in our lives, our sin nature is also just as real and just as ruinous. Scripture tells us if we say we are without sin, we call God a liar. To reject the role of Satan and the role of sin in our life would be silly.

We reside in a world that is fallen, a world cursed by God due to Adam and Eve's sin. We reside in a world chock full of death and disease where our body is wasting away. Because the world is fallen and Satan is real, we are going to face suffering in this world.

We also know that we are able to live this life in victory. Additionally, after this life, we have the hope of Heaven where there will be no death, disease or sin, and Satan will be in the lake of fire. Our victory is guaranteed.
