In February 17 1788, Lt. Henry Lidgbird Ball directed the Royal Navy who came across Lord Howe Island as they were imminent to Botany Bay.
As they came back, they docked and saw that the island was empty. Lt. Ball already has islands with his name so he opted to name the island to Richard Howe, primary Lord if Admiralty.

The Island is found near the large group of islands of Australia, 600 kilometers east. It has the following dimensions: ten kilometers long, two kilometers wide and formed like a crescent.
