Choosing the Right Case For You

By Lane Pen

One of the most vital components of your PC is the P.C case. Selecting a good P.C case is a very important step in building your personal computer, since it establishes several things. It determines the amount of PC parts you can have along with how what temperature your PC operates at. And it also establishes how good your Personal computer looks.

There are different things to consider when choosing a Computer case. The first is how much space your PC case is going to take up. If you do not have space to spare on your already busy desk, it'd be best to take a look at a case that's comparatively small.

The second factor is internal space. This is very important as it establishes which/how many parts you can put in your Personal computer. There is no use buying a smaller case then not being able to put your glossy new video card with 3 fans in it. You may want to add several DVD or CD burners also but to try this extra space will be necessary. One specific thing to keep an eye out for is overheating. If you put a few components that generate heat, into an overcrowded case you'll run into Problems with overheating.

The third would be motherboard support. It may sound rather like something straightforward, but make sure your motherboard will physically fit into the case. I'm aware of many folk that have found this out the difficult way.

The fourth thing to consider is cooling. If you're planning on over-clocking your personal computer, or jam-packing it with components, you'll need ample cooling to avoid damage to your elements. Adequate cooling means more fans in more places. If you are planning to do any of the above, you'll need to select a case that will support the installation of multiple fans.

As you now know selecting a case isn't as straightforward as it appears. There are many factors that will heavily impact the performance of your system.
