Change your brain. Change your life?

By James Peterson

The brain has always been of great interest to people from all walks of life. As our brains are the control center for everything we do, people have tried to augment their brain power a never ending variety of ways.

Although the engaging field of brain research is growing rapidly, it still is a subject with more questions than answers:

What can be done to enhance brain power? Do techniques using isolation, for example meditation truly help? Or are activities involving brain stimulus more effective? Can brain function be improved through practice?

For lots of us, driving a vehicle is 2nd nature but a lot goes on in the brain of someone studying how to drive.

Doing different things creates new and different pathways in the brain. Doing different things or things differently helps keep the brain exhilarated.

To juggle things up, drive a different path to work. Try typing with your ""less used" hand. Walk in a different way. Learn new activities. Any new activity will develop new "networks" in the brain.

Excite the right side of your brain. Being creative can give the brain a genuine boost. Try writing a poem or story with additional levels of detail. Learn a new language or do some art.

The left side of the brain deals with logic and critical thinking. To stimulate the left side of your brain, resolve puzzles, do maths, play chess, or even engage in a healthy debate.

There has never been a better time to purchase and read one of the large number of "brain books" available.

Each day brings us new brain technology. It is now feasible to "brain train" your grey matter. Brain training is one of the fastest and simplest paths to measurably enhance brain function.

How brain training works

The repeating of hearing a song on the radio teaches your brain to sing the song even though it wasn't deliberately learned.

Each and every day of our existence new brain patterns are developed by repetition. This is an illustrative example of "neurons that fire together, wire together" and is a normal part of learning, experiencing, and being human.

Brain training naturally creates new brain patterns from repetition. It typically uses a high speed PC, specialized brain software, sensors, signal processors, and a comfy chair.
