Choosing the Right Women's Underwear for Your Party Dress

By John Jones

Choosing the right underwear to go under your party dress is such an important part that many people forget. Wearing the wrong underwear can be a very embarrassing mistake. If it means you have to go out and buy an alternative bra and knickers then do so, you want to feel great. But whatever you do, always make sure that you pick the correct fit and style over fashion.

Make sure you get yourself measured, so that your bra will fit perfectly and not be too big or too tight, this will only alter the shape of you silhouette. Most people know that it makes sense to wear a white bra under a white dress or a black bra under a black dress. So make sure that you do too, otherwise there will be a strange looking shadow under your white, silky dress if you forget to put some white underwear on. Also, if you think it's ok to wear pale underwear under a black dress, just because you can't see it, then you're wrong. When having pictures taken the flash from the camera will automatically pick up the paler colour under your Ball gowns.

When you enter a dress store, have in mind what you're looking for. I mean, know what style of dress best fits your body. Party dresses come in all styles and colors so it can be overwhelming unless you have some idea of what's going to look good on you in advance. For example, long flowing gowns look better on tall girls with slim hips and small breasts. Short tight fitting dresses are better for short girls that like to show off their curves. Think about your body type and go from there.

If you choose to wear a dress with really thin straps, then it's recommended that you purchase a bra with clear straps, this will make sure that you don't see your bra strap under your Dresses Bridesmaid. If you are unable to get a clear strap bra, try to get a bra the exact colour of your dress - this will make it a lot less obvious.

There are also bras out there that come in the style of a corset, which give you the support whilst also having a wider strap which comes lower down your back. This will allow you to wear a dress with a scooped back, and still have the support you need. When we say more is better, we mean that if you are wearing a tighter fitting dress then opt for bigger style knickers. Likewise, if your dress is silky and fairly thin then wear knickers that will cover you up.
