Our elderly have special needs that are quite different with those young ones who are trying to get the latest and most up to date technological gadgets for geeks. If you're looking for a 4.5G cell phone that features high definition movies and pictures then this probably won't be what they are looking for.

They would prefer if you get something much simpler. For example most of them have failing eye sight. It would help a lot if you get them a phone that has a bigger screen and utilizes bigger fonts. Also the phone with bigger labels on the key pad would work.

Get the phone with bigger key pads and bigger font labels. This way, your elderly won't have to fumble when typing and can easily make faster phone calls and text messages.

You can also look for a phone that produces greater and clearer sounds. You will find that elderly will find this phone much easier to use especially when they won't have to strain to listen to the sound or have you repeating or shouting your message over the phone.

You also have to look for something that operates quite simply so that they won't easily get frustrated or relearn using a cell phone. You might want one that can send messages and call alone. Additional features may be an alarm clock, and a calendar.

You will also find it handy to have a dedicated key for emergencies. You will find that your elderly can call for help faster when all they have to do is to press the key. This ensures they get help as fast as possible.

You will find that you will have a lot of choices in the market. You can either bring your elderly as you select mobile phone for the elderly or you can surprise them for their birthday.
