Visualize Your Way To A More Fit You

By Marie LeFavre

Willpower and lots of effort are oftentimes quoted as being qualities you need for long-lasting fitness. Unfortunately, this will actually discourage a number of people as even though we understand this, the thought of making the sacrifices required puts us off. The real issue here is that you probably do not want the goal badly enough rather than it being down to pure idleness. The way we think will be reflected in everything that we do and we can alter our thinking patterns through the decisions we make. If you desire to be fitter, learning how to visualize may hold the key and we will now see what this involves.

Holding an image in your mind and to concentrate on this, is nearly all people's understanding of what visualizing actually is. You may have found that what happens is that your thoughts start skipping from one thing to another instead of staying focused. This is because there is no really powerful emotion associated with the picture you have in your mind and to do this you need to think about why you are interested to get fit. Complete clarity is necessary for this because it needs to be your vision and not influenced by someone else. Once you have done that, it is a matter of then attaching emotion to that end goal. Fat loss or a great body might be what you want to have, so you have to be able to tap into the feelings of realizing these goals when you visualize.

There are DVDs and CDs that you can use to help you speed up the process and you can learn about being hypnotized also. You should start to feel more ardent about your desires because you will have complete clarity about what you want to achieve. At any time you are undertaking some form of exercise, you can visualize also and this will give greater emphasis to your workout. Whereas at one time working out seemed to demand a lot of effort, you will notice that this is no longer the case. The roadblocks to fitness that used to be there are effectively gotten rid of by how you visualize in such a powerful way.

The benefits of having the ability to do this, is that it can be used in other areas of your life. Perhaps one of the emotions you link to being fit is how this will improve your personal relationships or your ability to progress your career. If you connect all aspects of your life in this manner, you can start to form a vision of the person you are becoming and you will not want to go back to the old unfit you.

So begin to use the power of visualization in helping you reach your fitness objectives and you will find that you progress with far greater ease.
