Team Fortress Support Classes On Servers

By Dirik Hameed

Team Fortress 2's most important class, is arguably the support class. Supporting the scouts, you'll find this class all over the map. Your support class will also keep the heavy man going.

The medic is an important part of Team Fortress 2 not seen on Counterstrike Source game servers. The medics main weapon is the syringe launcher. His secondary weapon is the medi gun. Finally, his melee weapon is the bone saw.

The main responsibility of the medic on Team Fortress 2 game servers is to heal. You will therefore find any good medic right on the front line, supporting the scouts and soldiers. Their job is in healing their fellow comrades but also trying to stay out of the firing line as much as possible. The medic's weapons are only mediocre as he should be focused on healing players using his medi gun. The medic will receive a bonus of 150% on his own health by healing other allies. However if the medic stops healing then the players bonus health will slowly degenerate back to normal. Known as over healing, the charge bar will over fill and make the medic and his ally invulnerable for 10 seconds. Think how effective this is for a heavy when he can attack an enemy base for a prolonged period. If you like helping your friends on Team Fortress 2 servers, then the medic is for you.

The sniper's main weapon is the sniper rifle. For his secondary weapon, he carries a sub machine. Finally, his melee weapon is a machete. The sniper will take you out from long range if you stay still for too long. If you like hanging back and picking off targets from distance, you'll enjoy the sniper class. The sniper works best if you are able to find the best spot. Once you have found a good spot, you can take out targets with ease. You can also if you can take out that medic that's healing the heavy. Taking down the medic will then allow the rest of your team to progress on the ground much quicker. Staying scoped in on your target for longer will increase the power of your shot. To let you know how charged you are the laser scope expands. On the downside, don't expect to be able to pick off targets at close range with this weapon.

Using a cloak to blend and disguise himself, the spy is a little like James Bond on Team Fortress 2 servers. With the butterfly knife he can take out foes in one smooth movement. However if you do move out of range you can be spotted, and the move isn't instant. The spy cannot use any of his weapons whilst cloaked and so will lose his current disguise if he uses anything but the electro sapper. This is used to attach to engineers buildings which disables it and then slowly saps its health until it's destroyed. Therefore its best to first take out the building, then the engineer who can remove the sapper. If you can see a spy's disguise that means he is friendly. If you fancy yourself as James Bond, the spy is worth a look.
